According to Cointelegraph, throughout September 15, $1.24 billion in Ethereum was withdrawn from exchanges. According to analysts at IntoTheBlock, after $1 billion of ETH exchanges were withdrawn in April, the price of the cryptocurrency increased by more than 60% in just one month.
Here, the logic is that the number of available ETH in circulation is getting smaller and smaller. Some of it is sent to decentralized protocols to earn interest. Some users simply prefer to store the cryptocurrency on hardware wallets like Ledger to have more security. In addition, every minute, several ETH are burned as commissions due to the introduction of EIP-1559.
Notably, this time, the bullish effect of withdrawal could be even stronger. The fact is that in early August, hardfork London was activated on the Ethereum network, in which the mechanism of burning coins in each block was introduced. Thanks to him, in theory, the supply of ETH can decrease from day to day, which will only increase the probability of strong growth in its value.
Since London's activation, more than 317,000 ETH worth about $1.1 billion has already been burned. At the time of writing, the altcoin's burn rate is reaching the 4.69 ETH per minute mark.
